We are pleased to announce the release of the new QmixElements version v20180319. With this new release you extend the functionality of your CETONI devices and upgrade new features and functions - completely free of charge if you have a valid QmixElements license. Once again, we loaded this latest version with a large number of improvements, extensions and new features. You get new script functions, support for new devices (pneumatic high pressure valves, neMIX50 syringe stirrer, OEM syringe pumps) and new device functions like the pressure controlled continuous flow for our neMESYS syringe pumps.

The new QmixElements software makes your CETONI devices more powerful, more flexible, easier to operate and safer to use - and last but not least, it simply makes them more fun to use.

High-precision continuous dosing without switching pulse

In the continuous dosing mode, two neMESYS syringe pumps are connected to form a high-precision, continuously dosing pump. While one syringe doses into the application, the other syringe is refilled. The critical point in time for this system is the switchover from the dispensing syringe to the filled syringe. With conventional systems, this can lead to a drop in pressure and thus to a drop in the flow rate.

We have solved this problem. An active pressure control adjusts the filled pump to the application pressure before it is switched over, thus effectively preventing a pressure drop. The flow rate remains almost unchanged. The integrated tuning assistant allows you to quickly and easily tune the pressure regulator for your application pressure.

Improved configuration of pressure monitoring

Easier, more comfortable, safer

The configuration of the pressure monitoring is now even easier than before. Simply configure your pressure sensor and drag and drop it onto your pump. Then you only have to configure the settings of the pressure monitoring and you are done. For all components such as pumps, syringes, valves and pressure sensors, the permissible maximum pressure is now stored. This automatically limits the maximum pressure for pressure monitoring by the component with the lowest maximum pressure. This reduces the risk of damaging sensors or syringes by too high pressures.

During configuration, you automatically use the SI unit configured for the pressure sensor. You can specify whether pressure monitoring is only active when aspirating, when dispensing or in both directions. This allows you to pull the syringe back on and reduce the pressure even though the dosing has been switched off due to overpressure. An icon above the pressure sensor now always shows the current status of the pressure monitoring.

Improved configuration, SI units, calibration options...

The functionality and configuration of the I/O channels has been considerably improved with the new QmixElements version. Here is an overview of the new features and functions:

  • Support for different sensors (voltage, pressure, force, temperature, flow...)
  • support for real SI units - i.e. no more manual conversion of units or input of scaling factors necessary. For pressure sensors, for example, simply enter the desired unit (bar, psi, Pa, atm...) and the software does the conversion for you.
  • easy calibration - each I/O channel can now be calibrated by two-point scaling
  • user-defined sensor limits - limit the measuring range of sensors for your application

Improved Script Programming

New functions and more user-friendly operation

The script editor has been improved in many small details. Here are some of the improvements:

  • Several functions can now be selected, copied, moved or deleted simultaneously.
  • Selected functions can now be converted into a function sequence with a mouse click to improve clarity.
  • The representation of the script functions can be enlarged / reduced in three steps to keep the overview even with extensive programs.
  • The file name of the currently opened script is displayed in the title bar of the script editor.
  • improved JavaScript editor with line numbering and syntax highlighting for more comfortable programming of JavaScript code

New Script Functions

In addition, there are a number of new script functions which simplify the programming of processes and extend the functionality of script programs.

For example, you can now stop all pumps simultaneously with the Stop All Pumps function. For neMESYS syringe pumps and axis systems there are now functions for performing a reference run. With the Read Timer function you can measure times in your script with millisecond accuracy. You can conveniently group several variable declarations in a sequence using the new Variable Declaration Sequence. This improves clarity in the script editor when declaring a large number of variables. Also new are the functions for starting and stopping the graphical logger and the CSV logger. This helps you to synchronize the data recording with other functions and processes in your scripts.

Improved performance, CSV data export and more...

The process-data graph plugin lets you record process data of any device (e.g. current axis position, syringe filling level, etc.) or values of I/O and controller channels (analog inputs and outputs, digital inputs and outputs). We have significantly improved this feature in the new QmixElements version:

  • By improving performance, the software can now handle data recordings over several days with millions of data points smoothly and and reliably.
  • With the new CSV export function you can export the recorded data from the diagram as a CSV file for further processing in Excel, for example.
  • When the software is closed, recorded data is no longer lost, but is available again after the software has been restarted. You can then simply continue recording. Even if there is a power failure or a computer crash, the recorded data can no more get lost.
  • You can now switch the scaling of the time axis between absolute date/time stamp and relative time in seconds and milliseconds since the start of recording.
  • With the new script functions for start/stop of the logging you can now perfectly synchronize the data recording to other processes in your script programs.

Customer-specific work tables and support for I/O interface

The configuration of the rotAXYS360 work table can now be customized. This allows the complete configuration of the work table to be loaded from a corresponding configuration file. This makes it possible to optimally visualize customer-specific work tables or different configurations of titer plates and other containers.

The rotAXYS360 plugin supports the new rotAXYS I/O interface and the switching of a valve connected to it. The I/O channels and the valves are available in the software and can be controlled manually or via the QmixElements script system. This allows valves to be controlled or external devices to be triggered without additional I/O hardware.

We have extended the spectroscopy plugin with functions for realtime analysis. It contains a selection of analysis functions for online-analysis of recorded spectrums. You can create any number of analysis channels for each spectrometer. As an example, the integration function lets you calculate the intensity across the entire bandwidth of a spectrum, while simultaneously determining intensity at different wavelengths.

For each analysis a new analysis channel will be created in the I/O channel list. This channel works like a regular, analog input channel and you can use it and read it like any other analog input in the software and the script system.

Sophisticated chemometric analyses - online and in real time

The new Chemometrics Add-On, powered by Analyze IQ technology, brings sophisticated chemometric capabilities to the QmixElements software. Analyze IQ technology allows accurate analysis of spectroscopic data in realm time. Analyze IQ Lab software allows you to quickly and reliably create, evaluate and refine sophisticated models.

These models can then be imported into the QmixElements software for real-time analysis of recorded spectroscopy data. You simply create a chemometric analysis channel, assign an analysis model to the channel and then immediately have an analysis channel that continuously analyzes the recorded spectra. This allows you to detect the presence of a substance or its concentration in a mixture in real time, record it or react to it in the script.
